Black, Glittering Rat Secrets.
I have finished reading Crooked Little Vein by our sacred Internet Love Swami, Uncle Warren Ellis.
It's a very easy read, and a very funny book, and a very clever book. Essentially, I enjoyed it, and a copy will be finding its way into my little handses at some point.
Many thanks to
debxena and
fuzzy_ben for lending me their copy.
I submitted the current version of A Day In Her Lives into The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction yesterday, so we'll see what happens there. Brings my total of submissions for 2007 to three, which is good. My hopeful minimum is four.
Technically I've done four, but one of them was a resubmission of a story I thought had been lost in the mail. Ah well.
Anyway, it's spruced up from the glorious feedback provided by Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine, and so there's a vague possibility I can springboard with their assistance. And even when that doesn't happen, it'll be another Rejection Slip for me!
Arrrrr har ha.
Besides this, things happen.
So yeah. That's things.
I was going to say something else, but I've forgotten it.
I am unrepentant.

- I am getting PhD reading done, and realised today that I am absently planning to start writing actual chapters next week. This surprised me, but not as much as I'd thought it would.
- I am making progress in Half-Life 2, because I am finding time to play. And yes, I am a slowpoke. My list of Games To Play for Official Purposes is ever growing. This is an unsettling trend.
- The penultimate or ultimate session ofdoc_spatial's BTVS game is tomorrow, and absolutely nothing horrible is going to happen. I have recieved assurances.
- The final barriers to me beginning an RPG campaign using a modified variant of the deliciously free NEMESIS system are coming down, and I'm really looking forward to it. It's also a testament to the system's flexibility that I've been able to look at it and say "Yeah, I need to do a sequel to a campaign done by another GM using the Dark Conspiracy system, so the players have every right and reason to want the option of having Weird Powers," and just slot them in. I'm actually planning on writing up the campaign as a module in PDF form and such when I'm done - assuming I haven't taken to drinking Toilet Duck + Sprite cocktails to end The Pain due to having horribly cocked up.
So yeah. That's things.
